deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage releases tension in your muscles by manipulating deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It involves much firmer pressure than Swedish massage and is well suited for people with chronic pain, underlying conditions or who are recovering from an injury. Studies indicate that deep tissue massage improves flexibility and range of motion and significantly reduces pain.

reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing by enhancing the flow of energy. Reiki is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands on or just above different areas of the body and is based on an Eastern medicine belief that living beings have energy fields that support their health and vitality. When energy flows freely, then we are less likely to get sick or feel stress. Some practitioners describe reiki as acupuncture without the needles.

Hot Stones

This ancient healing technique has its roots in various cultures around the world. Smooth, flat stones are heated to a comfortable temperature and placed on specific points of the body, such as the back, hands, or feet. The heat helps relax muscles, allowing the therapist to work more deeply and effectively, enhancing the release of muscle tension, reducing stress, and promoting overall relaxation. The warmth of the stones also improves blood circulation and provides a sense of comfort and promotes mental and emotional well-being.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of medicine where a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. The idea is to draw blood to or away from parts of your body and increase circulation to promote faster healing. People get it for many reasons, such as pain and inflammation relief, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

my philosophy

I listen … deeply.

I listen to what people tell me. I listen to my intuition. And I let that guide my hands and show me where to go. Massage is so important because it improves your quality of life in so many ways, not just physically. Massage is not an indulgence, it's an integral part of self-care.

When clients come to me, they're not coming to someone who's just here to do massage and then go home. I am here because I truly love what I do, and I love seeing the results people get.

Healing others through massage is my passion and I am grateful that I get to do what I love and help others every day.

Whether it's stress, recovery or pain relief, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you.

client love notes

  • “I've been seeing Margaret for over 13 years, and I can honestly say she is the best masseuse I've ever had. From the very first session, her professionalism, skill, and intuitive touch were evident. She has an amazing ability to pinpoint areas of tension and tailor each massage to my specific needs, whether it's for relaxation or therapeutic purposes.  Margaret creates a calming and welcoming environment that always leaves me feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated. Over the years, I've recommended her to friends and family, and everyone has had the same wonderful experience. Her expertise and dedication to her craft are unmatched, and I truly look forward to every session with her. If you're looking for a top-notch massage therapist, Margaret is the absolute best!"
    - Gayatri C.
  • “Knowledge, confidence, comfort and kind soothing care are only a few descriptions for Margaret, owner of Knead Escape Massage Therapy. I came in with a multitude of seriously strained and stressed muscular issues in my neck, back and jaws. Margaret identified and directly targeted the main sources of my problems and with healing hands skillfully worked to give me much needed pain relief and functionality. She knows the body and how it's supposed to work for us, not against us. There are a lot of therapists out there, but I have found none like Margaret - she's amazing and loves what she does as her career, not a job... makes a huge difference and it shows!"
    - Teri P.
  • "Margaret has been my massage therapist for over 10 years. She has eliminated pain from my Golfer's and Tennis Elbows and strained rotator cuff and increased range of motion in those areas. Her calm and highly competent manner are such that I would not consider anyone else for my monthly therapeutic massage.

    Consider this a five-star rating!"
    - Laurie s.
  • “I’ve been a client for a little over two years now. My need for massage wasn’t for relaxation or destressing. Prior to seeing Margaret, I had been in an accident. The results of the accident left my muscles very seized up and restricted, even after physical therapy. Margaret used different methods to help bring relief and recovery. I imagine I was one of her worst cases. Within a few months, I was able to have full mobility in my lower back as well as my hips and knees. She was a life saver!!!!  My experience with Margaret has completely changed my mindset on deep tissue massage and all the benefits and longevity it brings your whole body.”
    - Stephanie C.
  • "I have been seeing Margaret for over 10 years. She is a gifted massage therapist. Often times, I become so relaxed during my massage that I fall asleep. As a physician who is highly dedicated to my patients’ care, I'm very discerning on who I recommend. I have referred many patients, friends and family to Margaret and their results are always extremely positive."
